Liam Ó Maonlaí is an internationally renowned Irish musician best known as a member of the Hothouse Flowers. Hailing from Dublin, he credits his father as being the main influence for his love of the Irish Language of which he is a fluent speaker and in 2005 he released a solo album entitled 'Rian' which is a collection of tunes and songs in Irish. In 2016 he released his latest album 'To be Touched'.

Irish singer & actress Lisa Lambe is one of Ireland's most sought after performers. Her debut solo album 'Hiding Away' recorded in Nashville and released in 2015 was received to great critical acclaim in Ireland and the US.

Lisa has performed and collaborated with many artists including ongoing performances with Hothouse Flowers.

Use simple hand stitches to embroider an authentic Celtic knot design onto a collage of linen, cotton, paper and silk. Your finished embroidery will be mounted onto a linen-covered mini canvas block, ready to display. You can choose your knot design from a selection provided by the tutor. A one-day course in which you will learn to carve a Celtic interlace, braid or knot design in local limestone. The geometry of Celtic design will be explained and a range of carved limestone examples will be on display. Fiona will be teaching a three-hour introduction to the Irish Half-Uncial script from the 8th century. It is suitable for complete beginners and for those who have practised calligraphy before.

It is visually a lovely script, easily read, open and round, written with the pen held at a flat angle to the writing line. I will demonstrate writing the script and give a short explanation to introduce it.

Alchemy of Colour Time: 7 June 2017 @ 8:00 am – 7 June 2017 @ 5:00 pm

The earth is the natural apothecary of the arts, hidden within its depths are all the variety of pigments as seen in great works of art throughout the world.

During this workshop, students will explore the traditional processes by which pure pigments are extracted from their natural sources in the form of earth, rocks, roots and berries, and how these are then purified and transformed into pure pigments.

Lesley Oates will share stories of the healing power of these ancient Holy Wells and their associated Celtic Saints in an experiential workshop with her Holy Well Essences.

Holy Well Essences are an interpretation of environmental energy signatures experienced at holy wells and sacred springs in Cornwall and their connection to our innate ancestral knowledge. The different essences invite you to take a voyage through your current issues to find your inner compass. This is an experiential workshop where you find out about the history and sacred significance of cornish holy wells and springs, and be able to select the essences you need on your personal voyage. You will be able to make up a bottle combining the essences you need to take with you to use at home.

Irish spiritual singer Noirin Ni Riain, a living legend in the world of Irish traditional and religious and mystical music is coming to perform in Glastonbury for the first time on Saturday, June 10. The Gaelic soprano with the extraordinary angelic voice comes to Chalice Well as part of our festival 'Exploring the Heart of the Celtic Spirit' for an intimate evening concert entitled 'Listen with the Ear of the Heart' which is also the title of her 2009 autobiography.
